CoD MW3 Prestige system explained: How to Prestige

If you're fast approaching level 55 in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer and are gearing up to be back at level 0, then you might be surprised to hear things are a little different this time.

You can also check out all the weapons you can unlock as you go, to see what bounties your exploits will garner.

Even more loot has been made available to unlock in the CoD MW3 Season 1 battle pass too!

Just be sure to check if any metas have changed as a result of the latest CoD MW3 patch.

CoD MW3 prestige system explained: How to prestige

In Modern Warfare 3, you can prestige when you hit level 55. But unlike in other titles, you won't have to start from scratch when you do. You'll be able to keep everything. You'll still earn the badge, but you'll be able to continue through the ranks.

Let's take a look at the various stages and rewards for each prestige badge:

• Prestige 1 - Level 56 to 99
  • Emblem Reward
  • MP: Four Calling Card Challenges, one Prestige 1 Mastery Calling Card Challenge.
  • MWZ: Four Calling Card Challenges, one Prestige 1 Mastery Calling Card Challenge.
• Prestige 2 - Level 100 to 149
  • Emblem Reward
  • MP: Four Calling Card Challenges, one Prestige 1 Mastery Calling Card Challenge.
  • MWZ: Four Calling Card Challenges, one Prestige 1 Mastery Calling Card Challenge.
• Prestige 3 - Level 150 to 199
  • Emblem Reward
  • MP: Four Calling Card Challenges, one Prestige 1 Mastery Calling Card Challenge.
  • MWZ: Four Calling Card Challenges, one Prestige 1 Mastery Calling Card Challenge.
• Prestige 4 - Level 200 to 249
  • Emblem Reward
  • MP: Four Calling Card Challenges, one Prestige 1 Mastery Calling Card Challenge.
  • MWZ: Four Calling Card Challenges, one Prestige 1 Mastery Calling Card Challenge.
• Prestige 5 - Level 250 and the level cap until the end of Season 1
  • Emblem Reward
  • MP: Four Calling Card Challenges, one Prestige 1 Mastery Calling Card Challenge.
  • MWZ: Four Calling Card Challenges, one Prestige 1 Mastery Calling Card Challenge.
  • Blueprint Reward: “Venomous” Blueprint for the MTZ-556 AR, with a focus on ADS Speed, Sprint to Fire Speed, and Sprint Speed.

With Season 1, Prestige 1 is now available to unlock. Judging by last year's MW2, a new prestige tier will be added with every season.

To settle any fears about not hitting the max prestige this Season, Activision shed light on the situation.

"At the end of Season 1, you can continue ranking up from wherever you landed on the Prestige Ranks. This allows players to catch up in later seasons, while also not resetting the progress of anyone who reached the Max Rank during that season."
