The Game of Thrones prequel series has three episodes now available to watch.
If you’re itching to watch Game of Thrones spin-off series House of the Dragon, but haven’t yet signed up to Sky or NOW yet, then never fear: HBO released the first episodes for free on YouTube, which happened to coincide with the launch of Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.
For weeks, viewers have been anticipating that the Game of Thrones and Lord of the Rings spin-off series, which both occupy the same fantasy space, would be forced to go head-to-head given their colliding release dates.
House of the Dragon introduces viewers to the Targaryens 200 years before Daenerys was born, while Amazon's The Rings of Power takes fans on a journey through Tolkien's fabled Second Age.
For those wondering which show will emerge as a winner in the fantasy war, RadioTimes.com readers said that House of the Dragon is better than Rings of Power in a recent poll, though it was quite a close call.
Of course, US streaming service HBO isn't available in the UK, so viewers on our shores may be wondering how they can watch the prequel series.

Well, as was the case with GoT, new episodes of HotD tend to drop in the early hours of the morning from a British perspective, as Sky does its best to keep up with HBO in the USA.
That's not the only thing that will feel familiar, either, with iconic music reappearing in a new opening title sequence in House of the Dragon along with the occasional allusion to future events that you'll remember from Game of Thrones.

How to watch House of the Dragon in the UK
House of the Dragon is released every Monday on Sky Atlantic and NOW.
The episode is being simulcast at the same time as it airs and is released on HBO and HBO Max in the US.
In addition to this, House of the Dragon will air once again at 9pm later the same day on Sky Atlantic.
Episodes are being released weekly.
