We've reached the end of the first week on Love Island, and it's safe to say there has already been a lot of drama.

The reality series returned on Monday 3rd June, and in just five days we've seen a dumping, a recoupling and no less than three new bombshells, with Omar Nyame becoming the latest new arrival at the villa on Friday night.

The islanders were initially coupled up after a list was put together ranking them all from best boyfriend or girlfriend material to worst – and not all of the new couples found an immediate connection, with Ciaran in particular having his head turned quickly.

It's therefore no surprise that there have already been quite a few changes to the original pairings following the first recoupling – with only one of them sticking together.

Uma entered the villa as the second bombshell of the season, and quickly chose to go on a date with Ayo in the hideaway.

And he clearly thought it went well – as when she was given the chance to pick first at the recoupling, she chose to couple up with him.

Samantha was initially paired with Sam Taylor in the villa, but when bombshell Joey made his entrance, he eventually decided to couple up with Samantha.

In turn, this left Sam single and therefore dumped from the island. Joey chose to stay with Samantha at the first recoupling.

Nicole and Ciaran

Nicole has already been involved in quite a lot of drama this season. She was initially in a couple with Sean, but soon began to strike up a connection with Ciaran – which left his partner Harriett a little upset.

At the first recoupling, Ciaran did indeed choose to couple up with Nicole – will they last long?

Jess and Ronnie found themselves ranked third in the boyfriend and girlfriend material line-up – and chose to remain together at the first recoupling.

Patsy had initially been partnered with Ayo – but he seemed more interested in getting to know Mimii and was then taken for a date by bombshell Uma, who chose to couple up with him at the first recoupling.

But in the meantime, Patsy had been striking up a connection with Munveer, and he ended up choosing to form a new couple with her following a heart to heart earlier in the week.

Harriett and Sean

Harriett had originally been coupled up with Ciaran, after they were named least like girlfriend and boyfriend material – and so it proved, with Ciaran soon having his head turned by Nicole.

Soon afterwards, Sean made his interest in Harriett clear with a somewhat cringy Aquaman chat-up line and then chose to couple up with her at the recoupling – but with Harriett expressing her interest in Ronnie, this doesn't seem like a pairing that is built to last.

Mimii and Omar

Mimii has already had quite a journey on Love Island – after originally being coupled up with Munveer, she then appeared to be striking up more of a connection with Ayo. However, when Ayo was chosen by bombshell Uma at the first recoupling and Munveer chose to couple up with Pasty, it left her without a partner.

But there was a twist: she received a text informing her that she'd get the chance to go on a date with another newcomer to the villa – Omar.

We will be regularly updating this page with the latest Love Island couples.
