Reacher season 3: Release date speculation and latest news
The Prime Video series has already been renewed for season 3.
A third season of Prime Video series Reacher is officially on the way, with star Alan Ritchson having told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show in February that it was "nearing completion".
The new season will be based on the seventh Book in Lee Child's series of novels, Persuasion, and will see Maria Sten reprising her role as Master Sergeant Francis Neagly, alongside Ritchson as the title character, Jack Reacher.
Meanwhile, some of the brand-new stars joining the cast have also been announced, with the likes of Sonya Cassidy and Anthony Michael Hall joining the series.
But when will the new episodes be debuting and what is the new run going to be about?

Reacher season 3 release date speculation
We don't have an official release date for season 3 yet, but given that filming is “nearing completion”, we shouldn't have too long to wait!
We could be looking at a similar release date to season 2, with season 3 potentially dropping sometime in December 2024.
That said, season 1 premiered in February 2022, with season 2 kicking off on 15th December and concluding on 19th January 2024 – so it's difficult to predict an exact date.
Back in December 2023, Ritchson confirmed shooting had already kicked off on season 3 in a video.
"You’re on the set of season 3 of Reacher right now," Ritchson reveals in the behind-the-scenes clip. "We’re officially underway." Watch below:

Reacher season 3 cast: Who will star?
As for who could be returning for Reacher season 3, we already know that Alan Ritchson will be reprising his role as Jack Reacher, and Maria Sten will be back as Master Sergeant Francis Neagly.
Sonya Cassidy (The Man Who Fell To Earth) will also join the cast of season 3, according to Deadline, and will play "an extremely intelligent and tough DEA agent from Boston with a sharp and sarcastic sense of humor" called Sarah Duffy. Anthony Michael Hall (Bosch: Legacy) has also joined, playing businessman Zachary Beck.
Meanwhile, the latest additions to the cast, announced in March, are Expats' Brian Tee, Gaslit's Johnny Berchtold, Father Stu's Roberto Montesinos and For All Mankind's Daniel David Stewart.
Tee will play Quinn, a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army that Reacher investigated ten years ago when he sold military secrets to hostile nations. Berchtold will play Richard Beck, a college student and Beck's only son, who five years ago was kidnapped and mutilated.
Additionally, Montesinos and Stewart will play DEA agents Guillermo Villanueva and Steven Elliot.
Season 2 saw a whole new cast join the series, as we found out more about Reacher's military past and enemies – and it seems like season 3 is doing the same, with the new instalment being based on another one of Lee Child's novels, Persuader.
Speaking to Variety about season 2's additions to the show, Ritchson said: "The cast of the first season set the bar so impossibly high for any other characters coming into the show.
"It almost feels like there’s a bittersweet betrayal by us enjoying a different adventure. But I think when people see what Reacher is like around his chosen family, they’re going to fall in love for different reasons."
Ritchson won't only be returning for season as the series lead, but will also be an executive producer, starting with season 3.
What could Reacher season 3 be about?
Season 3 will adapt the fan-favourite Child novel Persuader, which sees Reacher seek revenge for the brutal murder a colleague ten years prior.
To pursue this revenge, Reacher works undercover for the DEA to bring down a suspected drug runner with ties to the man who murdered his colleague.
Season 3's official logline reads: “Reacher must go undercover to rescue an informant held by a haunting foe from his past.”
“Some unfinished business has now found Reacher,” the book's blurb reads. “And Reacher is a man who hates unfinished business.” (You have to read this in your deepest, bassiest cinema trailer announcer voice. We don't make the rules.)
“Ten years ago, a key investigation went sour and someone got away with murder. Now a chance encounter brings it all back. Now Reacher sees his one last shot. Some would call it vengeance. Some would call it redemption.”
Ritchson previously told ComicBook.com of season 3: "I can't say too much about season 3, but I will say there's a lot of classic Reacher stories which are just adventures that he gets sucked into in a big way.
"And we get to enjoy Reacher in a new world. It may not have anything to do with family, with his past; he's just living that adventure out, and that's kind of the direction that we've gone, and it seems to really be working."
Reacher season 2 was based on the 11th book in Lee Child's series, Bad Luck and Trouble, and kicked off two years after season 1.
Is there a trailer for Reacher season 3?
Not yet! As season 3 is still filming, there have been minimal updates thus far.
But we're sure as more information is announced, it'll only be a matter of time before we have a sneak peek of season 3. Watch this space.
