Invincible season 3: Release date speculation and latest news
Will the animated superhero show be back for another season?
After that major ending to Invincible season 2, all eyes are already on season 3 - which has been confirmed by creator Robert Kirkman.
Fortunately, Kirkman has been providing exciting updates about season 3 left, right and centre, recently suggesting that we likely won't have to deal with another gap like the mid-season break in season 2.
He told Variety: "I understand that when you’re enjoying a thing and it gets taken away and given back to you at a later date — not the best. But it was a necessity for the production of season 2.
"Overall, I think it went well. The response to the last half of season 2 has very much been, 'Wish there hadn’t been a split, love the last half of season 2.'
"We’re still hitting number one on the Amazon platform. I don’t think it caused any real, lasting detriment to the show."

While he was hesitant to definitively confirm there definitely won't be another gap like it, he added that the team behind the show have "lived and learned" from it.
Elsewhere, it was also confirmed that certain characters will definitely be back for more. Read on for everything we know so far about Invincible season 3.
Invincible season 3 release date speculation
We don't yet know when Invincible season 3 will be coming to Prime Video. At a guess, we'd suggest it's coming in mid to late 2025. Thankfully it does seem that we'll have a shorter wait on our hands than we had between seasons 1 and 2.
That break lasted for over two years, but Steven Yeun has told Collider that work has already started on season 3, and that the team are hoping to get it to fans sooner rather than later.
He said: "For us, we know that this big break was not fun. We've been working hard to get a lot of backlog done. We wanna time this animation thing appropriately. So, yeah, we've been working. We're banking episodes, we know what's going on."
Meanwhile, comics creator Robert Kirkman told Variety that "the goal" is to make new seasons of the show available to release each year.
He added: "The realities of animation may make that a little difficult, but what I can guarantee is that the gap between season 1 and 2 is the longest gap we should ever have, you know, barring some unforeseen catastrophe.
"It may be every 18 months or 16 months or 13 months or every 12 months. We’re still trying to figure that out."
Thankfully for fans, the future of the show is pretty secure too, as season 3 was confirmed at the same time as season 2. Plus, season 4 has also been confirmed - so it's not a case of if we'll be getting more seasons, just when.
We will keep this page updated with any more concrete information that we get regarding the release of Invincible season 3.

Kirkman announced the news on The Invincible Podcast.
Co-host Ryan Sidoti asked whether there’d be any unexpected comebacks in season 3, to which Kirkman replied: "There are two big ones just off the top of my head."
"I can guess who they are," co-host TJ DeWeen added, to which Kirkman responded: "Guess and I'll tell you if you're right or not."
"Battle Beast," DeWeen said, as Sidoti added a "Titan" suggestion, too. "That is correct," Kirkman confirmed.
While much of the rest of the cast for Invincible season 3 is as of yet unconfirmed, we do know that Steven Yeun will definitely be back in the title role.
Meanwhile, Sandra Oh and JK Simmons are also very likely to be back as their central characters.
Additionally, there was a huge amount of speculation over Josh Keaton's role in season 2, with many wondering if Spider-Man would finally come to the Invincible universe.
While that didn't quite end up happening, we did meet Agent Spider. Whether Keaton will be back for season 3 remains to be seen.
We would also expect most if not all of the rest of the cast to be back, perhaps even those whose characters appear to have bitten the dust – this is Invincible after all, and anything is possible.
What could the plot of Invincible season 3 be?
Plot details are yet to be confirmed, but it sounds like the stakes are about to be upped, if creator Kirkman and co-showrunner Simon Racioppa’s recent comments are anything to go by.
"I could not be more excited for season 3," Kirkman revealed on the bonus Inside Episode 8 segment from Invincible season 2 on Prime Video. "I’m all about season 3."
Kirkman added: "I think that there’s so many pieces that have been put in place in season 2 that we’re going to build on in season 3, and so many different ways that we’re going to expand the show and push the show even further."
Co-showrunner Racioppa said: "You’ve got some new cast members, new stories. We go [to] some crazy places. But we pick up everything that we left hanging in season 2. All the emotional stories that you liked in season 1 and season 2 are continuing."

Teasing the scope of the third season, Kirkman added: "We want every [season 3] episode to feel like it’s a finale. Season 3 is an absolutely huge season with so many crazy things that you won’t expect.
"And where we leave things at the end of season 3… Oh my god, I cannot wait for people to see that stuff."
The creators have also chatted about ongoing storylines, with producer Simon Racioppa suggesting that Omni-Man (JK Simmons) is not actually beyond redemption.
Speaking in an interview with The Direct, Racioppa revealed: "He's starting to realise that maybe what he did there was not great; it was kind of wrong, and it's starting to drag on his psyche.
"And I think we just want to show you that we will explore that. And show you that maybe, you know, is there a way back? I mean, that's a question I think all of our audience can ask themselves as they watch it."
