Summary
"Homeland" is an American thriller starring Claire Danes and Damian Lewis. Danes plays a CIA agent convinced that a rescued Marine held captive by al-Qaeda as a prisoner of war was turned by the enemy and now threatens the United States. Already on thin ice after being stripped of her field status following a diplomatic incident in Iraq, she is forced to break protocol to prove her theory, but it would mean sullying the reputation of a man considered by her superiors to be a war hero. Lewis plays Sgt Nicholas Brody, the Marine in question. Morena Baccarin plays Jessica, Brody's wife; and David Harewood is David Estes, Carrie's boss. It premiered on Channel 4 in 2012.
