Good news for gamers: PS5 offers the best deals on consoles, games and more all year round.
First launched in 2020, the PlayStation 5 is now one of the most popular consoles of all time and a fan favourite with experienced and newbie gamers alike.
There are several different types of PS5 to choose from. Digital-only PS5 consoles are cheaper, but only permit you to play games that are available online, meaning that physical games are entirely out of the question. The standard disc drive PS5 comes with a higher price tag, but means you'll be able to play any physical game you desire.
There is also now the PS5 Slim, which first launched in November 2023. This console boasts all the processing power of the PS5, this time with a 30 per cent reduction on the console volume and 18 per cent weight reduction. For gamers without a large setup, this is a dream come true.
Going forward, only the PS5 Slim models will be manufactured by Sony. You may still be able to find the larger models first released in 2020 second-hand, but they won't be readily available at major retailers.
