Dragon's Dogma 2 release date: UK launch time and latest news
The long-awaited sequel is almost here.
Capcom returns to the world of Dragon's Dogma with a highly anticipated sequel arriving 12 years after the first game launched. Expect giant behemoth monsters, two kingdoms at war and plenty of cat humanoids.
Set to launch for next-gen consoles and PCs everywhere, the new action RPG will see players take on the role of an "Arisen", who must defeat the dragon who marked them upon death. With this, the quest will take place between the lands of Vermund and Batthal.
Lots has changed since the original game, however, plenty of elements that made the first one so popular are set to return as well. Most notably, it's in-depth customisation, classes and the many races that inhabit the world such as the feline-like Beastren.

When is the Dragon's Dogma 2 release date?
Capcom has confirmed that Dragon's Dogma 2 is scheduled to release on Friday 22nd March 2024.

The game was first announced in June 2022 and then received further details via the PlayStation Showcase in May 2023. Capcom then revealed the official launch data as part of its own Dragon's Dogma 2 showcase in November 2023.
Meanwhile, the review embargo will drop at 3pm UK time on Wednesday 20th March 2024, two days ahead of the game's launch.

When is the Dragon's Dogma 2 release time?
Dragon's Dogma 2 is set to release at midnight on 22nd March 2024. That should be the same in the UK and every other region. It'll unlock at midnight wherever you are.
Players on Xbox can now pre-load the game with an approximate 70GB download size needed to access the game. Anyone who does this can then jump in the second it reaches midnight.
Can I pre-order Dragon's Dogma 2?
Yes, Dragon's Dogma 2 is available to pre-order from a bunch of retailers now. Be quick to get the game for release.
You can pre-order the console versions (PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S) from Amazon for both physical and digital versions. If you're a PC gamer, you can pre-purchase the game on Steam.
Which consoles and platforms can play Dragon's Dogma 2?
Dragon's Dogma 2 will release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X and PC.
That means no Nintendo Switch or mobile versions are in the works. It's unlikely to change either considering the scope of the game. This is purely a next-gen release.
Dragon's Dogma 2 gameplay and story details
The official website provides a lot of information about both the story and the gameplay. It looks like the game will please both fans of the original and fans of high fantasy RPG action in general.
Dragons will be a huge element, too – so this might be a good choice for those desperately waiting for a new Elder Scrolls.
The website says the following: "The story begins in an underground gaol where the Dragon's voice echoes in the fog of lost memories.
"Ascend, Arisen, and best me, in accordance with the dogma of this world. Betwixt the domains of human and beastren, A hero must fulfil their forgotten destiny." So far, so epic.
The gameplay looks to incorporate a job system, too, allowing you to fight the way you want to as you explore the vast world of Gransys.
